hi yeah i hope so this is an on going problem that after what i thought was atheltes foot is at its worst over 3 years of different creams the doctor prescribed fluoxicillan 2 days ago . i have severe itching especially at night raised scaley skin that has moved from the base of my foot up the sides and my ankle only my left foot looks abit like nasty athelets foot

Use of oral antifungal drugs like Itraconazole/Fluconazole and local antifungal creams like Clotrimazole will help.A oral antibiotic may be required if there is bacterial superinfection in the area.You need to keep the area dry,use cotton socks which will need to be changed when they get wet due to sweat.Local dusting powder may help.The antifungals should be continued for 3 weeks after the symptoms disappear to prevent recurrence.Diabetes and other drugs which reduce immunity will need to be ruled out or treated.
