Severe Pain In Leg, Hip And Foot, On Wheelchair. History Of Back Surgery, Nail Put In Leg. Relief From Medical Marijuana. Any Alternative?

I have had back surgery in 2005 and I am in a wheelchair, I have broken my leg in March 25, I had to have a nail put in my leg. My leg, hip and foot pain constantly. I am on alot of medication that doesn't seem to ease the pain. The only thing that help is my medical majuinia, which I hate using but it works somewhat, I donot want to become a pot head, I am all ready on too much medication. Is there any other thing I could do to get off these drugs and go alternative.

Marijuana acts by increasing the levels of a neurotransmitter called serotonin in your brain. There are several drugs in the group "SSRI"s that do the same. They are usually considered third line if drugs like TCA and anticonvulsants don't work. If marijuana is working for you, ask your doctor to consider SSRIs. I advise you to go to a pain clinic. I don't know what the cause of your pain is or what kind surgery you have had. There are specific treatments for spinal pain and sciatica, that involve injecting steroid or other chemicals into the area. You may require repeated injections as the effect of the medication wears off, but it is quite effective for some kinds of pain.
