Severe Pain In Shoulder, Neck. Diagnosed Thyroid Enlargement. Experiencing Weakness, Mood Swings. Suggestions?

I am a 26 year old female with previously good health. Over the last three weeks I have been experiencing severe pain in my left shoulder and left side of my neck.. If I attempt to use my left arm it feels like the muscles are going to tear. I can not fully turn my head to the left with out severe discomfort. I have been to the doctor and the doctor said my left thyroid is fairly enlarged. However, the blood panel tests came back normal. I have no diagnosis but the symptoms persists for weeks now. I also have been feeling unusually weak/tired and having severe PMS like mood swings, and this is not normal for me. It also feels like a few lymph nodes are swollen on the right side of my neck, though these are not painful and can only be felt, not seen above the skin. Thank you,

Normal blood results show - its function is normal. It does not say anything about the structure.

When there is a swelling, you need a scan - ultrasound scan / RADIO ISOTOPE scan.
You may also need CT SCAN for the neck - thyroid swelling with swollen lymph nodes, needs EARLY and EXTENSIVE INVESTIGATIONS - to exclude malignancy.

You need BIOPSY - lymph node and thyroid (Fine Needle Aspiration).

You seem to depressed and this information may be more depressing...But the wise and only option is to have a proper diagnosis. And that requires investigations. There is no other option. Earlier, the better.

ENDOCRINOLOGIST and HEAD AND NECK SURGEON are the two specialists, you have to see.

Hi, Thank you for your query. Any patient under 30 yrs who presents with thyroid nodules must be evaluated for thyroid cancer. In this regard some appropriate investigations are Thyroid function test, Thyroid Ultrasonography, Thyroid scintigraphy, FNAC from nodules etc. Cancer can spread to Lymph node, Bones. So, you need medical attention.
