Severe Pain In Wisdom Tooth. History Of Being Suggested Removal Of Wisdom Tooth Would Cause Paralysis. Remedy?

Hi, My Dad still has his wisdom tooth. When he was younger and took an x-ray the dentist said that if he did a surgery and in the surgery they touch the nerve he could become paralyzed, because the nerve is very close to the tooth, My family lives in Japan right now and he does not have insurance so he can't do the surgery yet. But right now his wisdom tooth is hurting a lot. Will you please tell me all the ways to reduce the pain?

hello
yes it is true that if they harm the nerve while doing surgical exraction of the third molar it can lead to paralysis.. but i would advice your father to go for one more x ray and take some oral surgeon's opinion about it... to relieve pain he can take amoxicillin 500mg plus clavunic acid 125mg 12 hourly and ketorolac 400 mg 12 hourly for five days.. also start warm saline rinses 3-4 times a day..
hope it is helpful

Hi
thanks for using this app
first we need x ray of your fathers wisdom teeth, otherwise most probably permanent solvation is the extraction of that tooth. temporary solutions are
1.if the tooth is partially erupted or skin is covered the tooth which is impinged by upper teeth it will hurts sometimes-it is treated by just a removal of the skin(operculectomy)
2.some times food impaction in between the pocket or teeth, causes the pain- it is releived by oral hygeine maintainence and gargle with mouth wash and taking a anti-inflammatory drug
3.so many reasons to cause the pain

adv
take anti inflammatory drugs like aceclopara, antibiotics like cifran CT, proper oral hygiene maintainence
note
before taking the medication check any drug allergies, and ulcer
if your father had a stomach ulcer then take with antacids like rantac 500mg.
antibiotics are take only 3 days
ii hope this answer is useful for you thanks
