Hello,
Thanks for posting your question in HCM
Let me tell you that headache can be due to many causes like brain infection,
brain tumor, problem in the blood vessels of brain, migraine, sinusitis,
cluster headache. Rarely a patient can have headache due to two or more causes.
Back to your query, the possibility of migraine is likely. However, one has to clearly understand that the diagnosis of migraine is established after excluding secondary causes. The coexistent sinusitis cannot be excluded.
I would advise you to get examined by a
neurologist who will determine the need of scan. While doing a scan he may also suggest a scan for sinus (both can be done in a single setting).
If the diagnosis turns out to be migraine
You have to follow the following principle
1. Avoid stress; try to identify the precipitating factor like stress, perfumes, and coffee, chocolate etc. Do regular exercises.
2. during acute attack: you may take simple analgesics or triptan group of drugs.
3. Chronic phase: drugs which are helpful are valproate, topiramete,
amitriptyline,
propranolol etc
Don’t worry much, you will certainly benefit after being evaluated by a neurologist
Hope this helps
