Sharp Throat Pain On Holding Sneeze, Have Bruise, Popping On Swallowing, Severe Pain Since. Torn Muscle?
A few weeks ago, I attempted to hold back a sneeze and in doing so felt a sharp pain in my throat . It feels as if I have been punched in the throat. It feels like a strianed muscle or a bruise . The inside of my throat is not soar or raw and I have no other symptoms. Then yesterday after an unstifled sneeze, I took a bit of lunch and while swallowing , I felt and heard a pop. Since that point yesterday, the pain in my throad has been greatly intensified. It now hurts to even swallow saliva . Still now interior soreness or raw, scratchy throat feeling,... just feels like a sever bruise or a pulled or torn muscle or somthing.

After considering all aspect of your symptoms and co-relating them with possible pathological process it appears as you are having inflammation in throat and your eustachian tube is not working properly may be due to pharyngeal inflammation, which results in severe pain in throat on swallowing and at the same time popping in the ear. To confirm the diagnosis and treatment you should do- 1- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab. 2- Tympanometry . Till the investigations are going on and reports are awaited you may take- a- Tab Paracetamol. b- Anti allergic and mucolytic. c- Warm saline gargling and steam inhalation. d- Antibiotic (decided according to culture and sensitivity report).
