Short Breath, Breaths Through Mouth, Regular Smoker. Reason?
Hi, I am suffering from short breath or that I cant get enough air when I go to sleep and sometimes after I wake up like tonight. Most of time when I am asleep I feel I can't breath deeply enough and I breath through my mouth. Sometimes , like tonight, I couldn't get enough air even when I was awake and took breath from my mouth. I do not cough sneeze or have a runny nose. and I feel like I want to enlarge my nose holes to take more air from my nose. I am a regular smoker, 23 ys old.
Nasal congestion can occur in allergic rhinosinusitis, viral or bacterial infection or the presence of a mass in the nasal passages.
It is possible that your symptoms are related to allergic rhinosinusitis. Smoking will make this worse.
In addition to decreasing or totally eliminating this risk factor, you can also consider the use of a topical steroidnasal spray that will reduce any inflammation in the nasal passages. That can be used in conjunction with a oral antihistamine.
I hope this helps
