Shortness Of Breath, Abnormal Heart Rhythm, Atrial Fit. Help

Hi, We had Dr. Chaney, Cardiologist , then Dr. Mondovi, Cardiologist in Carson City, Nv. Dr. Chaney retired, and Dr. Mondovi won t answer by calls. I am about ready to check myself into hospital because Dr. Mondovi suspected perhaps a little blockage in artery .....Well, it s been a solid week and 1/2 that I ve been trying to contact her because she is the only one who can order A Chest/ heart x-ray to see the arteries. What should I do, and what causes shortness of breath and just not feeling goodf My heart has been out of rhythm for days, I have Atrial Fit, and just got back this morning for a short while. Thanks, Al Asti

Cardiologist 's  Response
Dear patient,

I agree that probably the best course of action is to be seen either in urgent care or the ED, since the symptoms of shortness of breath may arise from different causes needing different treatments, such as atrial fibrillation with rapid pulse, decompensated heart failure or as you are saying, an equivalent presentation of blocked arteries as shortness of breath.

Yours truly,

Dr Brenes-Salazar MD
