Shortness Of Breath After Steroid Shots For Back After Surgery. How To Rectify?
I fell on 12/31/2011 I had several steriod shots to the back. I had two disc laying on my nerve L3and L4. I Just had surgery in April of this year and I was give another shot 6 weeks ago. I have noticed I have shortness of breath and I did not have it before. I don't smoke and very active for 72 years old but now everytime I walk up my stairs in the house I can't breath. I noticed me having this problem in Janurary but now it's worse. My heart checks out fine and I took a CT of my lungs and thats fine but I failed the breathing test.

Instead, steroids injections are used for treatment of shortness of breath (breathlessness) in many lung diseases. You said that your heart is fine. Anemia, Muscle weakness may also be the cause for your breathlessness. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is more common in elderly persons. It can also cause breathlessness. Please check you hemoglobin level. If this is found to be normal then do breathing exercises regulary.
