Shortness Of Breath Due To Anxiety. Excessive Sweating, High Heart Rate And Weakness. Worried About Death

Can I die from an anxiety attack? I have severe shortness of breath. Had CABGx1 5 years ago that went wrong. I almost died from infection. Had to be re-opened 2 more times after the initial surgery. I have severe Depression, Fibromylagia, severe back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, neck pain and still pain at my right side of the chest where a muscle flap was done. I am on Dilaudid 8 mg every 4 hours. Recently I cannot even stand for more than a few minutes (in example in line at a store). I sweat excessively, especially in the face, my hair is soaking wet, my heart races, I feel like fainting and very weak. I sleep excessively since 2 weeks. I saw my Cardiologist 2 days ago, all is well. I am so scared when I get this that I could die from the severe shortness of breath?Please help

Hi there ~

Shortness of breath is a symptom of anxiety disorder. I do not think you will die of an anxiety attack, however you might benefit from getting medications rather than worry about dying from an anxiety attack. I do not think that it will be an issue when you visit with and consult a psychiatrist that can help prescribe the appropriate medications.
