Shortness Of Breath, Upper Back Pain, Lightheadedness, Excessive Sleep. What Is The Reason?
hi i had been having shortness of breath ever since i could remember, but i had been able to compensate for it by mouth breathing, although my breaths still feel as though it's never good enough. I usually have symptoms like lightheadedness and feeling sleepy almost which is slightly relieved by consciously breathing deep and fast. at the moment i also have upper back pain. this is my normal, except for the back pain, what could i possibly have?i decided to go see a doctor but my appointment is not until 2 weeks from now

You have not mentioned your weight. Are you overweight? Is the shortness of breath only while sleeping and are you sleep deprived because of this?
I suggest you consult a pulmonologist because you need a complete chest work up. It should also include a sleep study and a PFT beside chest x ray to rule out OSA and asthma.
