Should Betaserc Prescribed For Dizziness Be Taken For Life Time?

Hi Goodmorning Doctor. Very recently I had dizziness and consulted the doctor. She advised me to take medicine (Betaserc 16mg) for 10 days. I started consuming from last two days. I feel bit comfortable now. I would like to know do i need to take the medicine life long or it is curable with in short period. secondly what are the precautions i need to take. I am working in Accounts dept hence need to work on computer daily. Pls advise...

Hello,

* The Betaserc contains Betahistidine ingredient used for certain vertigo issues with best results.

* It is absolutely not recommended for the life time use of Betaserc by any consultant.

* In my clinic, I do recommend a gradual tapering of the medicine, once the symptoms are totally under control ; sudden stoppage is associated with rebound vertigo episodes.

Any triggering factors have to be omitted for sure along with control of blood pressure and sugar levels. Avoid stress, anxiety, smoking and alcohol if consuming.
