Should Cytotec Be Continued Vaginally Due To Mild Bleeding And Clotting?
Hi, iam 5 weeks pregnant. I used 200 Microgram Cytotec 2 tabs sublingually and two hours later 1 vaginally one the first day.I experienced cramps and pain that I had to take panadol. There was bleeding around 4 hours since the first table orally. But it is milder than usual period bleeding. 2nd day I continued with 2 tabs sublingually and 6 hours later another two tabs, make it totally 800 micrograms per day.there was no pain or cramp at all, the bleeding is mild, with very small blood clots. Today the third day, shall I continue with the vaginal?
Hello dear Understand your concern Misoprostol should be used under advice and observation of gynecologist to prevent complication and incomplete abortion. It should be used after checking intrauterine pregnancy by USG scan. Standard dose of misoprostol are as below: 800 ug should be put vaginally or buccally and if required you can use maximum extra two dose at interval of 8 hours. I think you did not take cytotec properly that's why bleeding is less. You should consult the gynecologist and get the USG and if required take another 800 ug vaginally as early as possible for successful abortion and prevent complication like excessive bleeding. USG scan should be done after 14 days of using pill to confirm retain products of conception. Take proper rest, analgesic, balance diet with iron and viatmin supplements. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
