Should I Be Concerned About A Hanging Dissolvable Stitch After Tonsillectomy?

Hi there, I'm 25 and I had a tonsillectomy on 10th June and I still have a dissolvable stitch hanging out of the right hand side! Last week it was towards the bottom of the incision site, but as the swelling has further reduced it's now situated on the side and is feeling quite sore - particularly when I ear. Do I need to go to the doctor about this? Thanks

Hello,

Don't worry about it. It may take time to dissolve. If you observed have any bleeding or swelling or loosen stitches, then contact your treating doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
