Should I Be Concerned About Red Vein Type Lines On The Swollen And Sore Tonsils Of A 4.5 Yo?

My 4 1/2 year olds tonsils are swollen and sore. We know they are on the large side for tonsils, so their size doesn't concern me as much as the bright red vein-type lines on her tonsils. I've never seen these "veins" before - are they a symptom of something else? Should I be concerned?

Thanks,
Emily

hi, it is nothing but tonsillitis. that is inflammation of tonsils. in this condition, the tonsils are swollen and sometimes even tensed which might cause severe pain and difficulty to swallow.
the red veins you see are nothing but tiny blood vessels which are clearly seen since the tonsils are swollen and tensed. due to this the underlying vessels are stretched out and visible on surface.
