Should I Be Concerned About The Ear Which Had Bled Due To Poking With The Q-tip And How Do I Clean The Stained Blood?

hi,

On saturday my son poked his ear with a Q-tip he cried for a minute and a small amount of blood came out.. later on the day he was fine the next morning he woke up with a small amount of dry blood... how can i clean his ear... i ask him if it hurts and he says no it doesnt.. should i be worried?

hi, if it has only injured the skin of auditary canal, you need not worry. if the injury is deeper and has damaged the ear drum, it is a concern. Do not put anything in the ear to clean. if he doesn't complain of heaviness in ear or hearing problem, you need not do anything further. any of the above symptoms warrant a ENT consultation. hope this helped.
