Should I Be Concerned About The Red Bumps With Purple Center On The Inner Thighs?

I get these red soft bumps with dark purple centers on my inner thigh sometimes. They don t really hurt that bad, and they never have a head like a pimple. The only real way I can get them to go away is to take a sterile exacto knife (steralized with rubbing alcohol and fire) and lance it. At this point a thick blood-puss mixture is released. After I do this to the blemish, it usually goes away within a few days. Are these anything to really worry about, or are they just boils?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

The condition may be prurigo. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. After thorough examination and investigations,he might give perfect treatment.. so consult the dermatologist and get diagnosed. Do not injure the skin lesions, otherwise secondary bacterial infection may occur.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilyas Patel, Dermatologist
