Should I Be Concerned About Urinary Tract Infection During Pregnancy?
Hi I am 22 weeks pregnant and yesterday was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection and started a course of cephalexin (I am allergic to penicillin) today I have a lot of lower abdominal pain and a burning sensation at the top of my legs. Should I be concerned?
Dear member, Thanks for writing to healthcare magic. Urinary tract infection in pregnancy has to be treated as it may worsen to fever, pyelonephritis (kidney infection). try plenty of liquids and tab urispas one thrice a day, syrup citralka 2tsp mixed in a glass of water twice a day. If recurrent then urine culture and sensitivity has to be done. write back if you have any question. Thanks, Dr Bhagyashree.
