Should I Be Concerned For Cancerous Lump Removed From Breast Followed By Radiation? Will Biopsy Give Accurate Results?

I am going to have a biopsy due to calcifications. A year ago I had a cancerous lump removed from the other breast followed by radiation. How concerned should I be? Will the biopsy give accurate results? Can they remove calicifications? Thanks - Linda

Biopsy is completely accurate. nothing can replace biopsy since the cells are examined under the microscope and then decided what they are. Since you said there are only calcifications, there is nothing to worry. Since you have been irradiated the treating doctor is cautious and asked for the test, nothing to worry
