Should I Be Concerned For The Enlargement Of Heart Having A History Of Heart Valve Problem?

If a patient has a history of a heart valve problem and an X-ray showed an enlarged heart why would they be released from the ER ? Shouldn't a cardiologist be called in? And could medication that caused a drop in b/p of 200/110 to 94/78 within 30 mins. Cause suspicion that something is going wrong with the heart?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Dear Sir/ Madam
Thanks for writing to us.
Yes, If there is a history of valvular heart disease and x-ray shows heart enlargement, a cardiac ultrasound or ECHO is indicated. But how emergent it is , will depend upon many factors. These include presentation, symptomatology and local practices.
Yes, this is a precipitous fall in blood pressure and should be looked into carefully for the cause of same. A heart condition, misuse of drugs, patient's individual response to drug or anxiety may be one of the culprits.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
