Should I Be Concerned Of A Pimple On Incision Scar After Appendix Rupture?

My son had his appendix rupture 2 months ago and had to have a drain put in for about 5 days. The incisions healed nicely but now over 2 months later it looks like he has a pimple on his incision scar.....Is that something we need to be concerned about? He has no fever and he says it s only painful if he squeezes it.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
From the description it seems, the scar area has hypertrophied(hypertrophic scar/keloid). It can be treated by applying silicone gel like contractubex/opexa etc. Sometimes for better reponse, one or two intralesional steroids injections are also given.
Hope this helped.
