Should I Be Worried About Chest Tightness After Using Chlorhexidine?

Hello, I was prescribed Chlorhexidine mouthwash by my dentist, due to a minor infection on my wisdom tooth. I noticed some chest tightness a few hours after the first use. However, I decided to follow my dentist s instructions and used it a second time. The chest tightness persisted and I have now discontinued the medication. It s has been two days since I used it last, and I still fell tightness in my chest throughout the day. Should I be worried or go to the hospital?

Hello, Thank you for consulting with HCM.
As you are mentioning that you had a feeling of tightness in the chest after having Chlorhexidine mouthwash it looks that, you experienced allergic reaction due to mouthwash.
But it is a very rare phenomena as it is a very common mouthwash. According to me once you should visit a General Physician for complete examination.
Hope it will help you
