Should I Be Worried About Intermittent Fever With Very Low Platelet Count?

Hi Doctor , My Dad had fever since Sunday night near to 102 ..Fever doesn't remain for longer. Sometimes it came and sometimes it went off. Doe that mean anything Serious. We had CBC check and everything was normal except Platelets. And, that went to 68000. Is that anything serious. We had doctor medication going on.
