Should I Be Worried For Becoming Pregnant After Diagnosed With Mono And Enlarged Spleen, High Grade Lesion Removed?

Hey there...I am 35 and just found out this morning I am 4w2d pregnant with my second child...I was also diagnosed with mono and enlarged spleen this past week, and also had a high grade lesion removed from my cervix in June via a cold knife cone procedure...is there anything at all I need to worry about? Thank you!

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

There is very little risk to the fetus of EBV (mono) infection during pregnancy. This is because the Epstein-Barr Virus transmission across the placenta is RARE. In addition, at this early gestational age, there is not a fully functional placenta anyway. One concer might be high fevers, though, and tylenol can be taken to keep them down. Talk with your OB/GYN about your concerns.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
