Should I Consult The Doctor For The Sore And Swollen Ankle Due To Poking Of Rusty Nail?

Hi my son got poked by a rusty nail on his ankles last night and it only had a blood dot but no blood came running out. He had his shots already. But today he's hoping around saying it sore and it is a little more swollen than the other ankle. Should i take him in to see a dr. Or just wait it out ?

Welcome to HCM.
I understand your concern as the swelling has increased and there is pain. This is indication of localized infection in the wound. I suggest you get in touch with his doctor for a prescription of antibiotics to help reduce the swelling and infection. Application of antibacterial cream over the wound will also help. Thanks.
