Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Infections of the bladder or any other infection in the body can affect the heart. Since you are getting palpitations & much discomfort you should visit ER & get CBC, Urinalysis, Lipid function tests, ECG & if required Echocardiography & TMT done to screen out any developing coronary artery disease. In the meantime you can take antacids for relieve. You should avoid oily-rich/junk food. Do regular exercise, stay away from addictions if any, eat healthy, avoid stress & tensions. Take care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I would explain that some palpitations are quite normal during an infection.

Anyway, if these palpitations persist, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam, a resting ECG and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests).

Hope to have been helpful!

I remain at your disposal for any further questions whenever you need!

Wishing good health,

Dr. Iliri
