General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there.

Thanks for writing in.

I would advise you to give her a dose of paracetamol 4 times a day as appropriate for her age and weight.

You can do sponging with water that is at room temperature.

Give her warm water to drink at regular intervals.

You can cover her with a light blanket.

If it is a viral fever fever, she should be better in 24-48 hours.

In case she has persistent high fever, drowsiness, lethargy etc, do visit the paediatrician at once.

Hope this advice was helpful to you.

Wishing your niece a speedy recovery.

Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
