After two babies I had a vaginal hyst with A&P repair. at the the age of 27. At age 31 I underwent another A&P repair for the recurring a&p and then 9-10 months later the 3rd A&P was performed. After many years when I was about 55 I noticed the familiar bulge. It was something Gyn watched for quite awhile.however, I am now 67 and the bulge is very prominent. I do not have any leakage (never have) but it becomes very difficult to walk or sit at times-feels as though I sitting on a water balloon or tennis ball. He diagnosed this as an Enterocele. My bladder is still intact however I do wear a thin panty liner as it seems after I void there is a little residual that seems to leak.A few years years ago I was told I was pre-diabetic. The reason I mention this is because the last 5 or 6 yrs I have to get up during the night to urinate but I never to seem to empty my bladder. As a result some nights I am up every 1-2hrs with bladder spasms. My urologist that I was seeing when I was much younger actually helped me to train my bladder to go at the slightest urge. t that time I would go into urinary retention thus was taught how to straigh cath myself. I ve had some very care-pfree yrs but the last year or two my bladder habits have cut deeply into my sleep time. Now that I ve discussed this I really would like an outside opinion-should I do The Pessere or be surgically sewn up. My Doc won t give me a definitive answer ( He states it s my choice) but wanted me to be sure I would not want to have sexual relations again if I chose the latter of surgery. By the way, I don t have the desire any more, as my husband has prostate problems and TURP. Sorry this is so long. Just thought I would like to hear someone else s opinion,
