Should I Go To The ER For A Spot On The Iris After An Eye Injury?

I got hit in the eye. Now I have an odd looking spot on my iris. My eye Dr advised me last year that due to my sever nearsightedness and the shape of my eye I will be more prone to the possibility of retinal tears. My vision is okay with no clouding or graying. I did have an arc of squiggly lines around my peripheral vision for a short time. Should I got the ER now or can this wait until morning when my eye Dr will be available?

Hi,

You need an eye drop specifically a retina specialist for those peripheral lines. That dot could be blood clot or even a localized atrophy of iris tissue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
