Should I Go To The ER Immediately Given High Blood Pressure Levels And Palpitations?

Hello, i have a question about my blood pressure. A week ago, i was diagnosed with stage 2 hypertension. subsequently, i was prescribed 5mg amlodopine and was told to avoid caffeine. i just measured my bp (after sitting for 10 mins, supporting my back with the back of a chair, my feet flat on the floor, and my left arm resting level with my heart. the reading i got was 180/101, with a bpm of 115. i am experiencing significant palpitations where can feel AND see my heart beating. my question is, should i get myself to an ER as soon as possible? thank you!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is better to go to the hospital and under go complete check up like ECG, ECHO and blood check up like lipid profile, RFT, LFT and CBC. Get a consultation with your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
