Should I Repeat Elisa Test If Once It Has Come Negative?
sir i had sex with a prostitue abt a month back and ihad worn acondom and also igot elisa test done after 10 days after having sex and test showed negative should get the elisa test repeated and i had sore throat after 15 days after having sex iam worried
Hi, Welcome to HCM. Sore throat is quite common problem for anybody. Sore throat following sex also is common even in the absence of HIV due to close intimacy. It is not specific for HIV infection. You had a protected intercourse. So a HIV infection risk is negligible. A negative ELISA test on day 10, can not rule out a HIV infection totally. It has to be repeated after 90 days to get a more conclusive result. Dr S.Murugan
