Should I See A Specialist If Having Irregular Heartbeat?

I have had an irregular heartbeat for at least two years. It shows up on EKG's yet my docotr doesn't seem too alarmed. it beats 4 times, pauses and then beats 3 times. I had an echo-cardiagram last year and no problesm, yet the irregular heartbeat was evidnet then. Should I be seeing a specialist? I am 72....have dieted and lost about 85 pounds in the past year.

With regards to irregular heart beat - it really depends on how frequently it is coming & also whether it is causing any symptoms?
As long as Echo is all N - unlike there is any structural heart problem.
Also have you had Holter / event monitor done - if not I suggest to get it done. Also from the explanation you have given it doesn't seem to be a cause of any major concern re irregularity it is showing on EKG.
Hope this helps
