Should I See The Doctor To Check Whether The Stitches Are Healing Properly Since The Lump Still Persists?

After a fall 3 weeks ago and after stitches in upper lip removed I still have a very hard lump under the stitched area. I have 1 broken tooth that cannot be repaired for another 2 weeks (crown or root canal not sure yet). The tooth is broken about half way and tends to irritate the inside lip area where stitches had been (inside area lip). Is there anything I can do to alleviate the tooth irritating the inside area of my mouth? What kind of doctor would I need to see to check that my incision is healing properly? - I'm concerned about the size and lump under the incision and how long this will take to heal completely internally. - the incision is healed and doesn't show any signs of infection.

Hi. Very good history given. It looks obvious that the edge of the broken tooth is the causative reason. This can be cured by the Dentist alone. He may be in a position to tell you about the healed wound, infection and the lump which has not resolved. Just wait and watch, may get OK with the further treatment , although there is a slight possibility of a foreign body , which a Dentist can tell you about. May be a dental x-ray can show if here is a small piece of tooth into the wound.
