Should I Seek Medical Attention For A Tiny Puncture Wound On Index Finger Due To Dog Bite?

Should I seek medical attention for a tiny puncture wound on the bottom of my index finger from a dog bite. It s slightly red, not bright red, slightly warm to the touch. Swollen, but nothing extreme. Can make a closed fist, but finger does throb when I do that. Dog has current shots. I m a 29 year old female.

Hello

Thanks for the query

Any dog bite from a dog who has not been vaccinated should be shown to a doctor. It is not just rabies that we are worried about, the bite itself can get infected and lead to cellulitis. You will have to receive a dose a anti biotics and if required vaccination against rabies

I hope I was of help

Regards
