Should I Seek Medical Evaluation For A Smooth Freckle That Is Unusually Darker To Monitor Any Changes?

I am a 46 year old woman and have a question about a freckle. This freckle is very smooth and definitely not bigger than 6mm, but it is darker and a little larger than surrounding freckles and seems to have a darker edge on one side. Do I need to have it looked at or can I watch it for changes?
