Should I Stop Or Continue Olive Oil For My Child’s Ear Wax If He Feels Nauseous When Lying Down?

My 11 year old son has been advised by a doctor to use olive oil to clear his ears that are blocked up with wax. First evening putting 2 drops in each ear. Now he says he thinks he’s going to be sick every time he lays down to try to sleep. Should we stop the olive oil treatment or persevere. The doctor said his ears are full of wax Thanks
