Should I Stop Taking Primolut N If Already Periods Have Started?

Hi, my doctor advised me to take Primolut N when I am on holiday so that I don t get my period as it is heavy and painful usually and I didnt want my period to interfere with my vacation, and my period was scheduled to come on the 13th of April, but I am seeing light spotting now which I think is the start of my period. My doctor said to take it 2 days before my expected period, which would have been the 11th and today is the 7th. Should I start taking it now to stop the period, or because it may have already started will the pills not work? Thanks

Hello,

If you have already started your period, then there is no point in taking Primolut anymore. It will not stop the bleeding.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
