Should I Take 200mg Susten If There Is No Problem In Scan Report?

My name is priya, age 30 years weight-50 kg, height -5.3
Now i am pregnant 15th week, doctor suggested 200 mg susten twice a day but my nt scan showing normal report. I got past history of abortion with twins gestation blood mis-match given anti-d. Can i take 200 mg susten now when there is no problem in my scan report?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Progesteron is hormone fetus gets from mother's blood in early months & later on produced by placenta. . This is essential for maintenance of pregnancy. In case there is deficiency of the hormone, it results in abortion.
- USG scan can not be diagnose the deficiency It can be estimated by hormone assay in risky pregnancies.
- It is a routine practice to prevent abortion by supplementing hormone in previous abortion cases.

* So, should continue dose of 200 mg. sustain for the period advised by your doctor.
