Should I Take Diazepam 5mg At Night To Aid Sleep Or Try Eliminating It?

Am starting new med lyrica 25mg bid with other listed medications. Did not take Diazepam as afraid to many sedatives. Should I take Diazepan 5mg at night to aid sleep or should I try to eliminate? Am also on 3mg morphine every 4 hours. This is to handle severe pain caused by slipped disc in neck.

Hello
Welcome to HCM.
You have mentioned that you have severe neck pain.
I think this might be one reason which is disturbing your sleep.
You should avoid benzodiazepines like diazepam as far as possible. Its better to take tablet zolpidem for sleep. This is not habit-forming.
Also you can consider tablet gabapentin. This will help you to sleep as well relieve the neuropathic symptoms due to cervical pain.
Please discuss with your physician regarding these drugs and take under his supervision.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks.
