Should I Take A Decongestant If I Have Throat Pain?

I have had a viral infection (likely the flu, according to the urgent care doctor I saw yesterday). My throat is hurting like never before! She did a strep swab and it is negative. I've noticed my throat hurts A LOT more when I am lying down--plus, my nose is stuffier too. Does this mean I need to take a decongestant? Or is there something else that can be done to alleviate this horrific throat pain? Thanks.

Hi,
decongestants do not relieve pain.
you can take a pain killer like tylenol after checking the dose.
