Should I Take An Anti-inflammatory For Worsening Swelling And Pain Around My Outer Ear Spreading To My Jaw And Neck?

My outer ear, specifically the area around the cartilage right next to my face/cheek, is swollen and painful. It has been getting worse for about 2 days, and now the pain is spreading to my jaw and neck. I haven't taken anything yet. Would you recommend an anti-inflammatory?
