At the doctor s office twice (last year & this year) it was 200/120....is this common. For one s pressure to raise so high at the doctors office. 2 Mins after it did go down 170/104. Hello,

Thanks for asking your query.

As you had mentioned that at doctor's office it is 200/120 twice. This is not a normal.

Blood pressure recorded at one time doesnot mean that you have hypertension.

I would advised you to record your blood pressure atleast three times daily preferably at same time of the day.

Avoid tea, coffee, heavy exertion 30-45 minutes,be relaxed prior to Blood pressure measurement.

If still your blood pressure is on higher side than you need to follow lifestyle modification as ( relaxation methods, exercise, avoid fried food, less salt, include more fruits & salad in your diet). If this lifestyle modication does not improve your blood pressure in a period of 3 months than you need to be started on antihypertensive medicine.

Wish you a Good Health.
