Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Should I Take My Daughter To ER After She Fell From A Horse?
Horse fell with my 18 y/o daughter and she hit her head on ground. Daughter says head feels really heavy, having some dizziness and c/o headache. She remained conscious through the whole episode, no nausea, pupils react to light, blood pressure 110/66, she has no outward bump on right back side of head where she hit. Should she be taken to ER? She is not wanting to go.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Any injury or trauma to head should be taken seriously. Head injuries may not produce symptoms immediately. You daughter may be perfectly all right but clinical assessment by an experienced doctor is must. If required a CT scan of head may be required. CT scan will detect any small injury ,if present, to the head.
