Should I Undergo An Angiogram As TMT Test Is Positive?
I am a 44 year old male, my TMT report says, "Stress test is positive for exercise induced ischaemic heart disease, whereas my my ECHO suggests " NO LVRWMA,Good LV SYSTOLIC FUNCTION (EF 70%),GRADE I DIASTOLIC DYSFUNCTION, NO MR/AR/TR, NO LA/LV CLOT/PE/IVC PLETHORA" NOW MY QUESTION IS SHOULD I UNDERGO AN ANGIO GRAM, AS I HAVE NO PAIN OR ANY OTHER SYMPTOMS.
Hi, Looking at your clinical history and investigations, I am of the opinion that you should undergo an angiogram. Angiogram detects any partial or complete obstruction in the coronary vessels supplying the heart. As the TMT test shows exercise induced positive changes, it means on extra load, the heart might go towards ischemia or towards heart attack. It signifies a partial block in the coronary artery. Echo during non-stress period is normal, and ECG will also be normal at that time. Only a bit of cardiac load is going to unmask an impending heart attack. I ask you to go for an angiogram. Any further queries, happy to help again.
