Should I Visit The Doctor For Sharp Ear Pain With Swelling And Tinnitus?
so, currently have sharp pain in my right ear that seems to radiate towards my jaw, accompanied by tinnitus, feeling of pressure, and slightly inhibited hearing (i think due to swelling but idk). i ve been having an issue with comfort in my right ear the last few days, but now that i m beginning to have pain should I go see a doctor or let it pass on it s own? I know what a typical ear infection feels like for me, and this feels different from that
You are suffering from pain in the right ear that is radiating to the jaw. You are also getting tinnitus. You feel pressure in the ear and also problem hearing. Get clinically examined by an ENT. Your symptoms may be indicative of infection, AOM, SOM, etc. it can be treated with antibiotics.
Sometimes, wax in the auditory canal may also present with such symptoms. Your treating ENT will do ear wash, a procedure done in the OPD. Do not do it yourself. Get Audiometry tests done to detect any problem in hearing and to detect partial or complete damage to the ear drum. You will be accordingly given conservative treatment or suggested surgery.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
