Should Implanon Be Removed If Having Serious Side Effects From It?

I'm 23 & married without kids. My implanon itchs constantly, to the point I'm almost breaking skin to scratch. My Dr said not to worry about that. Today I scratched my arm & noticed my implanon was broken in half. The Dr that put it in retired a few weeks afterwards. It was put in Oct 2010. I have also gotten vaginitsis (sp?) Since it was put in. I have back pain and severe migraines since Oct also. My new Dr said not to worry, this symptoms will go away but they still haven't. Should I just go ahead & have it removed? It's the only form of birth control I can use. I've had other severe reactions to other birth control & have a documented problem with carrying children so I don't want any right now.
