Should LPV - 500mg For Tonsillitis Be Taken Twice Or Four Times A Day?
I ve been prescribed lpv 500mg capsules for tonsillitis. The box says to take twice a day but I ve read it should be taken 4 times (6 hours). When I get tonsillitis it always starts on one side and while I m on antibiotics it switches to the other. If I take 4 tablets a day will this prevent it from infecting both sides?

LPV is a treatment of mild to moderately infections due to penicillin V sensitive micro-organisms. Therapy should be guided by bacteriological studies (including sensitivity tests) and by clinical response.
The usual dosage recommendations for adults and children 12 years and over are 250 mg to 500 mg every 6 to 8 hours (4 times a day).
I prefer to prescribe you AMOXIL 1G 3 TIMES DAILY and PREDNISOLONE 20mg TWO TIMES DAILY for a 6 days treatment
