Should Labetalol Be Taken If Blood Pressure Level Is Low?

I am currently taking 200mg labetalol daily but my bp still fluctuates and pulse gets as low as 46. My doc added 30mg Nefedipine. Just took it 2 hours ago and my bp went from 175/120 to 106/75. It is about the time now I take my next labetalol dose. Should I still take it being my bp this low?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You shouldn't have to take laberalol at this reading and please start alternative antihypertensive as such you are having bradycardia which might be due to laberalol as it is having b blocking effect. So, consult physician or cardiologist to adjust dose and medicine for htn.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
