Should Levothyroxine Be Continued To Treat Hypothyroidism?

HI I AM ON O.1 MG OG LEVOTHYROXINE FOR SUBCLINICAL HYPOTHRODISM. I AM STILL HAVING CRAMPS IN BETWEEN MY TOES AND FINGERS. I AM GAINING WEIGHT AROUND MY BELLY AND I HAVE A LOT OF PAIN IN BETWEEN MY SHOULDER BLADES AND LEFT SCAPULA PAIN. IS THIS DOSE STRONG ENOUGH OR SHOULD I STOP TAKING IT. MY FATIGUE AND ENERGY LEVEL HAS IMPROVED. I HAVE ONLY BEEN TAKING SINCE DEC 2011.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You have history of fatigue and weight gain. You are taking levothyroxine. You should check your T3, T4 and TSH level. If your TSH level is normal then nothing to worry. Just continue your treatment.

If your TSH level is high then increase the dosage of drug and if low then you need to decrease the dosage. Consult your doctor and plan accordingly.
