General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Does the doctor who prescribed Mirtazapine know you were on Paxil?

It's ok to use them both, Paxil works by increasing serotonin levels, which Mirtazapine may increase a little too, but it is not the main effect of Mirtazapine, so it should be fine, you would just need to be monitored a little more closely. If you start getting new symptoms of anxiety, restlessness, sweating, fever or feeling hot, vomiting or diarrhea, stop both and let your doctor know right away.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
